Starting up, Thoughts

Users: people or numbers

Sometimes in a startup it’s easy to forget that users are people and treat them like statistics. To talk to them for customer development purpose rather than to genuinely understand them.

How much traction do you have? What’s your growth? What’re the conversion rates?

While it’s definitely useful not to neglect numbers, it’s also important to see users as individuals.

I’d much rather have a user who cries at the demise of Learnemy than 10 users who don’t.
